Elizabeth has 29 years of experience in education. She spent 18 years teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in Lynchburg City and Chesterfield County. She also served as a STEM Coach for Powhatan County and a Curriculum Specialist at VCU for the Virginia Initiative for Science Teaching and Achievement (VISTA) program, focusing on Problem-Based Learning, STEM, science engagement, critical thinking, and student achievement.
Currently, Elizabeth is an Education Specialist for Innovation, a role she has held within Henrico for the past 7 years in various capacities, including STEM Coordinator and Innovation Coordinator. Her primary focuses include design thinking, problem-solving, hands-on exploration, durable skills, innovative curiosity, and supporting the work of LifeReady Innovations, including FIRST and STEM programs.
